Nicolas Stanley, Financial Planner & Founder

About Me

I joined the financial services industry 7 years ago, when I decided to switch from a legal career path to a career in personal finance. I took time off from school at UC Davis and immediately accepted a full-time internship on Wall Street. Since then, my passion for helping people make sense of their finances has only intensified. In my most recent role, as a planning resource to many advisors and their clients across Southern California, I developed the breadth of expertise needed to start my own virtual advice company—Protegè WP.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, but I currently live in Beverly Hills, CA with my partner Greg; he’s a 4th year dental school student. We enjoy hanging out with friends, working out, binge watching Apple TV and visiting family. While our lives are work-focused these days, I’m excited about our future.

I’m also excited about the future of Protegè. I look forward to getting to know new clients and their families, and to helping people attain financial independence.

Technology

We endeavor to use the best financial technology available to help clients achieve their planning objectives.

Are you a fiduciary?

As a fee-only financial planner, we work under the fiduciary standard–we look out for client’s best interests.

How are you different than other financial planners?

Nearly all planners receive a fee for the financial plan and additional wrap-fees or commissions, when clients implement the planner’s recommendations. Protegè WP only receives a planning fee.  In addition to our breadth of knowledge and smart technology, we deliver advice without the conflict of interest that comes when planners sell products and manage assets.

Where are you located?

Our office is located in Beverly Hills, but our mailing address is: 8605 Santa Monica Blvd, #76802, West Hollywood, CA 90069

What does the name ‘Protegè WP’ stand for?

Our full name is Protegè Wealth Planning, LLC. We always want our clients to feel safe & protected working with us and protegè is derived from the latin word for protect.

How are you able to keep your fees low?

Planners at large investment adviser firms share 50-65% of their revenue with their firm; we cut the big firm out and pass the savings on to clients.

In what states can Protegè WP accept clients?

As a Registered Investment Adviser in California, Louisiana & New York, we can accept unlimited clients from these states.  We also qualify for registration exemptions in most other states, where we can take a limited number of clients.
